Building a Business as a Busy Mom? Here’s the Time-Saving Plan I Swear By

You’re not just “busy”, you’re booked from sunrise to bedtime. Between school runs, meal preps, and everything in between, it might feel impossible to carve out time to start a business.

But here’s something I’ve learned: you don’t need more time. You just need a smarter way to use the time you already have.

This is the exact approach that helped me grow my business in the middle of motherhood, and it might just work for you too.

Get Clear on What You’re Selling

Don’t get stuck in “I need a big idea” mode. Your first offer doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be useful.

Ask yourself:

  • WHAT do people always come to me for?

  • What do I ENJOY talking about?

  • Can I turn that into a PRODUCT or SERVICE?

Start with something simple: a Canva template, a one-hour coaching session, or a mini digital guide.

The goal? One clear offer you can explain in one sentence.

Keep Your Work Time Short & Focused

You don’t need 8 hours. You need 90 minutes a day, or less, with no distractions.

Try this:

  • Set a timer for 25 minutes (Pomodoro style)

  • Choose one task: write an email, create a post, update your page

  • Take a short break and do another round if you can

That’s it. One focused hour a day adds up fast.

Use Tools That Save You Time

You don’t need to learn fancy software. Use what’s simple:

  • Schedule Instagram posts in batches

  • Reuse your content across platforms

  • Create templates for emails or graphics

  • Save your product delivery as a PDF or link, no coding needed

Every task you repeat? Find a way to make it easier.

Don’t Try to Do It All

Here’s your permission slip to skip the “perfect brand,” the 10-page website, and posting every single day.

Instead:

  • Pick ONE platform where your people are

  • Share something helpful 2–3 times a week

  • Focus on connection > perfection

Simple and consistent wins every time.

Protect Your Energy, Not Just Your Schedule

Your to-do list will always be full. But your energy? That’s limited. Choose tasks that matter, and let the rest wait.

Some days will be messy. That’s part of it.

But every small step you take still counts. You’re building something, right in the middle of real life.

Wrap Up: Start Where You Are

No babysitter.

No office.

No full-time hours.

Just a woman with a vision and a nap-time window.

You don’t have to do it all today. Just start with what you can, and build from there.

Your business doesn’t need to be big to be real. It just needs to begin!
